Naidu Losing Control Over Administration?

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s anguish over the callous attitude of the IAS officers in the administration only shows that he has lost control over the administration.

During the state-level promotion board meeting at Amaravati, Naidu observed that many IAS officers were operating from Hyderabad, while he was struggling to run the administration from Amaravati and Vijayawada.

“While I have been running from pillar to post to bring investors to the state for setting up various industries and institutions, these bureaucrats are creating hurdles by raising various queries in the files,” he lamented.

What does that indicate? It only indicates that the chief minister has absolutely no say and the bureaucrats were running the show.

First of all, it is foolish to expect the IAS officers to settle down in Vijayawada because there are no facilities either for studies of their children or quarters to stay.

Naidu can have his own residence on the banks of Krishna river, but where can the IAS officers say?

Secondly, the IAS officers have become smarter after gaining bitter experience during the Y S Rajasekhar Reddy regime, whose decisions resulted in imprisonment of some senior IAS officers in various scams.

Now, they are not signing files blindly, even if they are referred to them by Naidu himself, but raising questions on every minute issue. Only if they are satisfied with the answers, they are approving files.

So, what is the point in blaming these Babus, Mr Chandrababu?
