My comments are not against BJP: Naidu

A day after threatening the Centre that his government would explore the option of moving the Supreme Court on the implementation of the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act to secure justice to Andhra Pradesh, Telugu Desam Party and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu sought to clarify that his comments were not against the Bharatiya Janata Party or Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking at the meeting of the TDP senior leaders and politburo members, Naidu said there was nothing wrong for any state to move the Supreme Court on the issues pertaining to the state.

“Every state does it. I was referring to certain pending issues pertaining to Schedule 9 and 10 of the AP Reorganisation Act, which need to be resolved. If the disputes are not resolved, the only option is to go to court. That does not mean we are against the BJP or the Centre,” Naidu said.

He reminded that the Prime Minister’s response to the issues raised by him was very positive.

“Compared to my earlier meetings with him, he looked very positive and heard our issues very seriously. He has agreed to look into all the demands seriously,” he said.

Apparently, Naidu received the information that his comments on going to Supreme Court had sent wrong signals to the Prime Minister and the local BJP leaders are getting ready to attack him. That is why he had to give a clarification on his comments.
