Misled by I-PAC surveys, Kasireddy made big money?

Misled by I-PAC surveys, Kasireddy made big money?

More and more skeletons are tumbling out of the cupboard of Raj Kasireddy, former IT advisor to the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government, who has been named the prime accused in the alleged liquor scam during the previous regime.

According to sources, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Andhra Pradesh police, which is probing the case, arrested Raj Kasireddy’s personal assistant, Paila Dileep, and interrogated him.

During the investigation, SIT officials are said to have uncovered that Kasireddy and his benami, Dileep, purchased massive properties in the final years of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

These include the purchase of a 326-square-yard plot from Sahiti Infratech in Gachibowli in July 2022 by Eshanvi Infra Projects Private Limited, a company owned by Raj Kasireddy, with Paila Dileep executing the deal for ₹1.46 crore.

Raj Kasireddy also bought 20.30 acres of land from Sreenidhi Estates India Pvt Ltd in Machanpalli village, Shahbad mandal, Ranga Reddy district, on March 25, 2024, again in the name of Eshanvi Infra Projects. The deal was valued at ₹10.37 crore, with Paila Dileep acting as the authorised signatory.

Further investigations revealed that Dileep also served as a witness in other land deals involving Raj Kasireddy, including parcels of land totalling around 36 acres and worth approximately ₹12 crore. However, in these transactions, the authorised signatory was Booneti Chanakya, who has been named Accused No. 8 in the liquor case and is currently under SIT custody.

Sources say Raj Kasireddy went on a property-buying spree, confident that Jagan Mohan Reddy would return to power and that no one would question his actions.

“Kasireddy was apparently misled by internal surveys conducted by Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC), headed by Rishi Raj Singh, which consistently predicted Jagan’s return to power,” sources said.

Reportedly, Raj Kasireddy and Rishi Raj Singh were close associates, with Rishi frequently sharing survey findings with Kasireddy.

“At one point, Rishi even tried to bring Raj Kasireddy on board as an investor in his company. Emboldened by these predictions, Kasireddy made aggressive and open investments,” sources added.

Had Kasireddy read the public sentiment correctly, he might have exercised caution in making these investments.

Sources say there is now growing speculation that Rishi Raj Singh, too, could come under the scanner of investigating agencies in connection with the case.
