Milk Maths: Naidu Misses Logic!

Milk Maths: Naidu Misses Logic!

Telugu Desam Party president and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been doing the dairy development business for several years. Though he is not doing it directly, his family is into selling of Heritage milk and other dairy products and hence, he must be definitely aware of the profit and loss in the milk vending business.

But, Naidu seems to have missed the logic in calculating this business while interacting with a boy at Mahanadu a couple of days ago.

This boy, Hemanth Sai from Nellore, donated Rs 50,000 to the TDP as party fund. He claimed before Naidu that he had earned the amount by selling milk sachets every day along with his friends and collecting the commission from the agent. Naidu was so impressed with him that he praised the boy for his love towards the TDP.

What Naidu did not try to find out was whether the boy was bluffing or speaking truth. Assuming that the boy distributes 100 milk sachets every day, the commission he gets would not exceed Rs 25, taking into consideration the commission of 25 paise per packet.

Assuming that 10 boys distributed the milk sachets, the total amount collected would be only Rs 250. If they don’t spend a single rupee from their earnings, the total amount all of them would earn would be not more than Rs 7,500. They can mobilise Rs 50,000 only if they work on all the days for seven months.

Is it possible? Can anybody mobilise so much amount without spending a penny for themselves? Even if it is correct, why only Hemanth was called on to the dais? What has happened to his friends? Well, only Naidu can answer.
