'Mahanati' probably the first ever biopic in Telugu, has made it in the small screen too and it shows how much Savitri is adored by the Telugu audience.
Leading entertainment channel, Star Maa had screened ‘Mahanati’ on August 19th and the television premiere received a stunning rating of 20.16 TRP.
It appears like those who could not watch the movie in theatres, got stuck to their tvs on the Sunday evening. May be this is another way of paying tribute to the legendary actress.
‘Mahanati’ is based on the life of evergreen beauty Savitri and Keerthy Suresh essayed the titular role. Nag Ashwin directed this biopic and it was an emotional ride of the first ever lady superstar.
The film gave the box office run for its money with staggering collections but more than that it won the hearts of many.
