KCR wants to dilute drug peddling case?

With Excise and Enforcement Director Akun Sabharwal, the head of Special Investigation Team (SIT) which is investigating the drug racket case, declaring that he was going on leave, there are suspicions that the case would fizzle out on the lines of the sensational Nayeem case.

Akun Sabharwal will be on leave from July 16th to 27th. He claimed to be going on leave for personal reasons and ruled out any pressure from government over the drug racket issue.

Telugu Desam Party working president A Revanth Reddy alleged Sabharwal was forcibly sent on leave only to save few bigwigs in Telugu film industry having close links with the big people in the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government.

“When such a sensational development happens, Akun should have cancelled his leave, had he really applied for the same a month ago. The government should not allow him to go. Now, it gives rise to suspicion that Akun was being sent on leave forcibly only to dilute the case,” Reddy said and demanded that the government cancel Akun's leave.

Sources said Akun had deliberately leaked the names of some of the celebrities to the media only after he was asked to go on leave.

“That way, he has fixed the government, But, it is certain that the government will allow the case to fizzle out on its own over a period of time, as has happened in the case of Nayeem,” sources said.
