KCR Plays Sentiment Card In Final Moments!

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and caretaker chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao sought to play the sentimental card to gain sympathy from the people in the final moments of campaign.

Addressing the public meeting at his native Gajwel assembly constituency on Wednesday, KCR recalled his days of struggle for the separate state and said he had achieved Telangana by risking his life.

“I was staring at death by undertaking indefinite fast. Doctors warned me that I would soon go into comatose state. But I did not give up my fast. I continued it till the Centre came down on its knees and announced the Telangana state formation,” he said.

Alleging that the Congress party was trying to hand over power to Telugu Desam Party once again in the name of grand alliance, KCR said as long as he was alive, he would not allow Telangana to be enslaved again.

“TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu is jealous, as he has lost control over Telangana, while the Congress is unable to digest the fact that it had to be without power all these years,” he said.

He said that it is the responsibility of intellectuals to stand guard for Telangana.

"They have spread fears that Telangana would go dark, but we have filled it with light. Now Telangana is no 1 interms of per capita consumption of electricity" said the TRS chief.

He said that in the past four years, the government obtained a revenue of Rs. 2,057 through sand mining.

Noting that Telangana has surpassed the Gujarat in development, he said that the creation of wealth and giving it to the poor is the aim of the government.
