Kavitha to float a new party soon?

Telangana Jagruthi president and MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, who was suspended from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi by her father and former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, is reportedly planning to float a new political party, according to sources close to her.

Kavitha called for a press conference at her residence on Wednesday to announce her future course of action.

“She is also planning to step down from the primary membership of the BRS party and also her MLC seat. In all probability, she might her plans to launch a new political party soon,” sources said.

The BRS leadership suspended Kavitha from the party, alleging that her activities have been damaging the party’s image.

Following her suspension, Kavitha has been holding internal discussions with her loyalists. She is planning to quit the MLC seat first even before the party raises a formal complaint regarding her position.

Sources say Kavitha, who has been making independent political moves ever since her release from jail in the Delhi liquor scam case, has almost finalized the idea of forming a new party.

She has reportedly been strengthening the Telangana Jagruthi organization and may either convert it into a political party or launch a new party under a different name.

Preparations for the party launch are said to be in progress, and the BRS suspension has only accelerated her plans, sources said.
