JC Threatened To Quit LS Seat?

For quite some time, maverick Telugu Desam Party MP from Anantapur J C Diwakar Reddy had been hinting at quitting at politics. He even boycotted the recent debate on no-confidence motion moved by the TDP against Narendra Modi government in Lok Sabha.

On Monday, JC went to the extent of resigning from his parliamentary seat, stating that he was not happy with the politics at the state and centre.

He scribbled his signatures on his empty letterheads in the presence of media, leading to the speculation that he would call it a day.

However, his threat turned out to be a storm in the tea cup after he had a long meeting with TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

“All is well now,” JC said after meeting Naidu.

He, however, reiterated that the political atmosphere at centre as well as in the state was not congenial for him.

“I will tell everything at an appropriate time,” he said when asked as to what transpired between him and Naidu.

Apparently, JC had some issues with the local TDP leaders in his constituency, as the highhanded behaviour of him and his brother J C Prabhakar Reddy antagonised many of them.

While JC wants to confine himself to business and promote his son Pawan Reddy as his successor, the local TDP leaders are resisting his move.

That is precisely why he reportedly threatened to quit his post. He told Naidu that the officials were not releasing funds for the development of roads in Anantapur and his rivals were spreading canards against him.

He said that he will not cowed down by warning and threats. He is always ready to serve people.
