Congress MLA Arikapudi Gandhi, openly challenging the HYDRAA as he fenced off 11 acres of disputed land in Gajularamaram.
The Serilingampally MLA, accused of encroachment, reportedly installed fencing and blue sheets around the land located in Survey No 307.
The controversy erupted after Gandhi alleged that HYDRAA officials had unjustly targeted him, claiming he had “encroached” upon government land.
Over the weekend, the MLA took matters into his own hands and began fencing the property, asserting it was legally purchased.
He also pointed out that he had previously filed a petition in the High Court regarding the same land.
Gandhi strongly criticized HYDRAA for allegedly entering his property without any prior notice.
The people are commenting that HYDRAA acts quickly when it comes to poor people’s homes but remains indifferent when it’s about politicians, accusing the authority of selective enforcement.
As the political heat rises, the 11 acre land in Gajularamaram has become the latest flashpoint between the Congress MLA and HYDRAA officials, with both sides standing firm on their claims.
We need to see what action will be taken by the department and how it saves the government’s skin, which is already facing criticism for its selective handling of disputed lands.
