Groupism In Vijayawada TDP Irks Naidu!

Groupism In Vijayawada TDP Irks Naidu!

The simmering discontent in a section of Telugu Desam Party in Vijayawada following the entry of former minister Devineni Nehru is snowballing into group rivalry in the party, much to the chagrin of party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Ever since he joined the TDP a few weeks ago, Nehru has been trying to regain his hold in the party in Vijayawada and surrounding areas. This is not being taken kindly by local TDP leaders like Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani and Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi, who are not tolerating the attitude of Nehru.

Before Nehru joined the party, both the leaders told Naidu that Nehru should not poke his nose in the party affairs in their respective constituencies.

However, Nehru began wielding his power within no time, causing troubles to both Kesineni and Vallabhaneni.

On Sunday, Nehru’s followers demolished a culvert leading to a colony which has large number of Vallabhaneni followers. This led to clashes between the two groups and the MLA lodged a complaint with Naidu.

Interestingly, both the rival groups belong to the same community, yet they have been acting as bitter enemies. This is naturally causing embarrassment to Naidu. If he doesn’t settle the disputes, it would cause considerable loss to the party, say TDP sources.
