Gali Wants To Patch Up With Chandrababu Naidu?

Three days ago, when mining baron and former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy expressed regrets over abusing Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in foul language a few years ago, it triggered widespread speculations as to whether Gali wants to patch up with Naidu.

Interacting with ABN-Andhra Jyothy MD V Radhakrishna in his “Open Heart” programme, Gali Janardhan Reddy admitted that he had behaved in an immature and silly manner during the days of the CBI inquiry against him.

“I am a changed man and have become philosophical,” he claimed.

When Radhakrishna asked him why he had called Naidu as “Kojja No. 1” (eunuch), Gali said he would deeply regret for making such comments and would apologise to Naidu for the same.

“I lost my cool when the TDP workers attacked my house in Hyderabad with stones and I did not know what was going through my mind. I had to use such unfortunate words in the spur of the moment.

The language I had used was very wrong and avoidable and shouldn’t have used against a popular leader like Naidu,” he explained.

First of all, the fact that Radhakrishna had invited Gali Janardhan Reddy for a television talk itself shows that the latter was trying to patch up with Naidu. And Radhakrishna might have been used as a mediator.

And the fact that Radhakrishna had deliberately raised the question of Gali’s abuses against Naidu and getting an apology from him – appeared to be part of a pre-planned strategy.

May be Gali needs the support of Naidu to restore his mining business and Naidu needs Gali support in winning over part of the Reddy community in Kadapa.
