Fact Sheet: Sisters Cheer as Brothers Fall?

Fact Sheet: Sisters Cheer as Brothers Fall?

In every family, daughters always wish for happiness at their parents’ home. Sisters pray daily for the well-being of their brothers.

They feel their life is good only when their birth home is peaceful and their brothers are doing well. A daughter’s love for her family cannot be explained in words.

But surprisingly, in both Telugu states, two sisters are wishing for their own brothers’ political downfall. This unusual situation has become a hot topic in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

In Andhra Pradesh, Y S Sharmila openly wants her brother Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to lose power.

In Telangana, K. Kavitha is hoping for her brother K T Rama Rao’s political decline.

Everyone knows this — it is no secret.

Just like Sharmila in Andhra Pradesh, Kavitha too has not fully increased her political aggression yet, but her intentions are clear.

Both states are seeing the same pattern: sisters turning against brothers due to differences over political power and property matters.

In AP, instead of focusing on Congress winning, Sharmila toured the state mainly attacking her brother Jagan during the elections. Her goal seemed more about defeating YSRCP than winning seats for Congress. Even now, she starts every political speech by criticising Jagan.

In Telangana, Kavitha is upset after being suspended from the BRS. During the Jubilee Hills bypoll, she openly questioned KTR’s leadership.

She asked why KTR and Harish Rao did not meet people directly and said that being active only on social media will not bring victory. She hinted that she wants BRS to lose.

Just like AP in 2023, Kavitha may also campaign widely in Telangana with the sole aim of ensuring BRS is defeated. And that seems to bring her satisfaction.

In both Telugu states, people are now talking about how two sisters — Sharmila and Kavitha — are finding happiness in the political defeat of their own brothers.
