Did Galla Copy KTR's Comment?

Telugu Desam Party MP from Guntur Galla Jayadev has won appreciation from all quarters for his eloquent speech in Lok Sabha on Wednesday, coming down heavily on the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for doing injustice to Andhra Pradesh in budgetary allocations.

However, one comment made Jayadev made one wonder whether he copied a comment of Telangana IT minister K T Rama Rao earlier in the day.

Referring to the allocations made to various institutions and industries of Andhra Pradesh in the Union budget, Jayadevi read out each of these allocations and said the total amount of allocation is just around Rs 1100 crore.

“It is no exaggeration to say that the ticket collections made by Telugu super hit film Baahubali are larger than the funds that were allocated to the state,” he said.

Surprisingly, a few hours before Jayadev spoke in the Lok Sabha in the afternoon, KTR, in a chit-chat with media persons in Hyderabad also made a similar comment.

“The funds allocated to the state were not even matching the collections of the Telugu film Bahubali,’’ KTR said. He reminded that Bahubali-2 itself had made record collections of Rs 1,000 crore.

May be Jayadev watched KTR’s comments on television when the Lok Sabha was adjourned in the afternoon and liked the comparison of budget with Baahubali. So, he incorporated the same in his speech to attract the attention of the Prime Minister.

Neverthless, Jayadev’s speech was very strong enough to convey the feelings of the people to the Centre.

He warned that the BJP would be doomed it if joined hands with the opposition YSR Congress party.
