The internal wrangling within the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) seems to have reached a flash point following the breakdown of talks between Kalvakuntla Kavitha and the emissaries of her father and party president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday.
Following the political storm that brewed after the leakage of the letter written by Kavitha to her father, it was evident that she has decided to take KCR and her brother K T Rama Rao head-on.
As per reports, Kavitha is contemplating launching a new political party, expressing dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs in BRS.
Sources suggest she has conveyed this clearly to emissaries sent by KCR himself.
Leaders associated with the Telangana Jagruthi organization, which Kavitha leads, are reportedly spreading word that an official announcement about the new party could be made on June 2.
Kavitha's discontent over lack of prominence in the BRS has been evident for quite some time.
In recent public appearances and speeches, her comments have often been perceived as indirect criticism of the BRS government.
Kavitha is believed to have firmly told the emissaries of KCR on Monday that she would chart her own political course if she continued to be sidelined in BRS, even hinting at plans to float a new party.
Speculations are rife that Kavitha will officially exit BRS and announce a new party on June 2, Telangana Formation Day.
Her close aides claim she no longer sees a future for herself in the BRS due to being continuously marginalized.
In this context, Kavitha has been actively organizing public meetings and events, positioning herself as an independent leader.
Under her leadership, Telangana Jagruthi has been expanding, with several new committees being formed.
On Tuesday, she even announced the Singareni Jagruthi Committee, appointing nine conveners.
Her followers say she plans to engage the public using the tagline "Bahujana Social Justice", indicating a potential shift toward inclusive, grassroots-based politics.
