CBN Wants To Become Andhra Kejriwal

The Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu appears to be under the impression that he can become "Andhra Kejriwal" by harping on the corruption theme ahead of the general elections.

The anti-corruption crusade has helped the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to script a unique success story in Delhi Assembly elections, dealing a deadly blow to the ruling Congress.

Naidu's advisers must have told him to focus on the corrupt deeds of the Congress at the Centre and in the state so that the people will vote TDP to power in the next elections.

The TDP's assessment is that there is a strong public disenchantment with political corruption, particularly directed against Congress.

However, the TDP supremo's detractors point out that he does not have the luxury of using the anti-corruption plank in the elections since he was the Chief Minister of the state for nine long years and his tenure was marked by many scandals.

It would be a gross mistake on the part of Naidu if he thinks that he can replicate AAP success in Andhra Pradesh.

"He should first remember that he was the person who introduced corruption in politics and vitiated the atmosphere," the Government Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy said.

He said it was ridiculous on the part of Naidu to criticise the Congress President Sonia Gandhi and other Congress leaders on the issue of corruption.

"Chandrababu is leading a fake TDP. The real TDP belonged to late N T Rama Rao and it is gone along with NTR," he said adding that Naidu had no moral right to talk about corruption.
