It is more or less certain that Rahul Gandhi is going to be declared as the president of All India Congress Committee on Tuesday.
Except that of Rahul, no other person has filed nomination papers for the party president post till now. And very soon, he will formally take charge as the Congress party president.
Now, the Telangana Congress which is desperately trying to come to power in 2019 elections, is hoping that Rahul will turn around the fortunes of the party in Telangana, since it will give some fresh look to the worn out party.
According to the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee sources, Rahul is expected to revamp the entire party from top to bottom across the country.
Particularly in states like Telangana, where the party stands chances of coming to power, he will focus on restructuring the organisational structure by making sweeping changes.
“While giving due respect to the seniors, Rahul is expected to fill the key positions in the TPCC with young leaders who are capable of steering the party to victory.
Even the selection of candidates for the next elections will be entrusted to the young team, since it can work with no selfish motives,” sources said.
Rahul is understood to have told the TPCC leadership to attract neutrals, professionals, students and young leaders by offering them with tickets.
He asked the party leaders to enrol as many members as possible, constitute booth committees, village committees, mandal, constituency, district and state committees, sources said.
Rahul is also expected to give a new direction to the party publicity through door to door campaign, social media and other information technology tools. He wants to use them extensively for dissemination of information.
