BJP MLA T Raja Singh on Wednesday threatened to attack cinema halls in Hyderabad if they screen the film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which features Pakistani actor Fawad Khan as the ‘side hero’.
Raja Singh representing Gosha Mahal constituency is a hard-core Hindu fanatic leader known for several controversies for his inflammatory comments against Muslims.
In a letter to the theatres, he called the movie “anti-India” and resist the screening since it features Fawad Khan.
The MLA asked the managers of Ramakrishna, Santosh, Swapna, Tarakarama and Inox cinema halls not to screen the movie which is expected to release on October 28.
“As Pakistani terrorists and their Army have killed some brave soldiers of Indian Army, we don’t want any anti-Indian acted movie to be shown in our theatres. Telangana state people are very angry and not willing to see any Pakistani actor acted movie. People have requested me to see that the movie shall not be played in our constituency theatres,” the MLA wrote to the manager of Santosh and Swapna theatres at Abids.
“Except for the management of Inox, all others agreed not to screen the movie. If anyone screens the movie against public will, they will have to face the consequences,” he added.
