Babu Behaving Exactly Like He Did In The Past

Leader of opposition in Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy accused Chandra Babu of repeating his past behavior while discussing the issue of loan waivers.

A contentious issue based on which TDP was voted to power; no concrete action has been taken on it despite Babu making repeated promises that the issue will be resolved in favour of people.

Speaking during the on-going budget session, Jagan read out the various promises made by Babu in 1996 and 1997 from the copies that he carried along with him to the House.

Way back in 1994, Babu had promised Rs 2 per kilo rice scheme and prohibition. But by 1997, he did a U-turn and increased the rates of rice and lifted ban on prohibition, pointed out Jagan.

In fact, Babu’s present behavior does not come as a surprise as he had behaved in exactly the same manner in the past, said Jagan.

Though Babu has been claiming that he made the promise of loan waivers after being moved by the plight of people of Andhra Pradesh, after elections, he made a statement through Eenadu claiming that the turn of events and banks’ decision put the situation out of his hands.

In the article, he had requested the people of Seemandhra to understand his limitations and how he was compelled to wait for the banks to concede to his request. But the people are anxiously awaiting the issue to be resolved at the earliest, reminded Jagan.

Jagan also brought to the attention of the House that Babu had claimed that his government had provided water to nearly 20,000 acres of land through his ‘Jala Yagnam’ scheme, when the facts are completely different.
