APNGOs union president P Ashok Babu seemed to have softened his demand that Seemandhra MPs should resign in protest against bifurcation of the State.
Speaking to the media at APNGO Bhavan here, Ashok Babu said: “I leave it to them (MPs) whether to resign or not to resign on this issue”.
But, he felt if MPs tender resignation it will have an impact on the Centre.
He said they would go to Delhi to meet national leaders and convince them that problems can be resolved only when the State remained united.
Stating that the Centre set up GoM to mislead the people, he said, “We will soon have a meeting with government employees associations to evolve a future course of action. As the Speaker was not accepting the resignations, the MPs should write a letter to the President stating that they are withdrawing their support to the UPA government”, Babu said, adding there was no need for a new political party.
