Arvind's loose tongue to cost him his seat?

Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Nizamabad parliament member Dharmapuri Arvind is learnt to be feeling the heat from within the party for his unsavoury comments against Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLC and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha.

Arvind made some nasty comments against Kavitha during his recent press conferences and had to face the attacks from the TRS cadres on his residence. But instead of getting sympathy from the party, he is learnt to have received reprimands from the Delhi bosses.

The BJP national leadership is said to be of the view that such comments against a woman leader would completely damage the party and fetch sympathy to Kavitha, who is planning to contest from Nizamabad parliamentary seat in the next general elections.

Added to this, several BJP leaders from Nizamabad have lodged a complaint with the party leadership against Arvind, stating that he was poking his nose in every assembly constituency and blackmailing the party cadres.

On Saturday, several district BJP leaders openly raised their voices against his high-handed behaviour and unilateral decision making in the appointment of the party’s assembly convenor in Bodhan.

At a meeting held to discuss the arrangements to be made for the padayatra of BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s Praja Sangrama Yatra from Bhainsa on November 28, the local BJP leaders raised slogans against Arvind.

As soon as district president B Laxmi Narsaiah began the meeting, a group of leaders started shouting anti-Arvind slogans and demanded that the party have a re-think on the Bodhan assembly convenor, whose name was proposed by the MP. The group said Arvind did not consult local leaders before suggesting the name of the convenor.

According to party sources, the senior party leaders were hurt by the behaviour of the MP and wanted him to change his attitude towards party leaders.

Many of them complained that Arvind was not giving due respect to senior leaders and not recognising their contribution towards strengthening the party in the district.

If the reports from the party are to believed, Arvind might not get the BJP ticket for Nizamabad LS seat again. At the most, he might get the party ticket for an assembly segment, they said.
