After Rajamouli, Naidu Engages Boyapati!

After Rajamouli, Naidu Engages Boyapati!

It looks like Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu seems to be having more confidence in film directors than professional architects in designing the structures in Amaravati.

Naidu has already engaged the services of national-award winning Telugu film director S S Rajamouli to fine tune the designs for the government buildings like the Assembly complex, secretariat and high court in Amaravati, notwithstanding the fact that Rajamouli is just a director and not even a graphic designer.

He is sending Rajamouli to London to give suggestions to world class architects in finalising the designs of Amaravati in tune with the computer graphic designs used for imaginary city of Maahishmati in the film Baahubali.

The latest news is that Naidu has also engaged another film director Boyapati Srinu in finalising the designs for the massive Lord Venkateshwara Swamy temple being proposed on the banks of Krishna river at Pavitra Sangamam near Vijayawada.

Boyapati attended the official meeting convened by Naidu at Amaravati and gave a presentation of his design for the proposed temple. Naidu liked it very much and reportedly told him that it would be cleared once it got the approval of Agama pundits.

One wonders how Boyapati Srinu could be engaged to give designs for the temple, when there are several temple architects in the country.

In fact, when Boyapati Srinu’s name came up for discussion, some officials thought whether Naidu would use him for teaching stunts to the TDP leaders to take on YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

After all, Boyapati is known for violent fighting scenes, rather than graphics!
