Former Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas alias Nani fired yet another salvo at his younger brother Kesineni Shivanath alias Chinni; and also the Telugu Desam Party-led coalition government headed by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in connection with the alleged liquor scam that took place during the YSR Congress party government.
In an open letter to Naidu that he posted on social media, Kesineni Nani brought to the notice of the chief minister a letter written by Chinni to the Central Bureau of Investigation asking it to take over the ongoing probe into the liquor scam.
“What is deeply troubling is that Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni), the sitting Member of Parliament from Vijayawada and a leader from your own party, has officially written to the CBI seeking a probe, citing his lack of confidence in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by you to investigate the case,” he pointed out.
Adding to the gravity of the situation is the fact that the same MP is alleged to have been involved in financial transactions linked to the liquor scam, routed through his close associate Sri Raj Kasireddy. These serious allegations have surfaced through whistleblower inputs and media reports.
“When an individual potentially implicated in the scam seeks a CBI investigation, and simultaneously rejects the credibility of the SIT, it raises fundamental questions about the integrity and public perception of the current investigation,” he said.
This contradiction has severely undermined public trust in the SIT’s ability to conduct a fair and impartial probe.
In such a sensitive and high-stakes matter, where your own party’s MP is both a suspect and a petitioner, only an independent investigation by CBI and ED can ensure the process is free from political or administrative interference, Kesineni Nani said.
He urged Naidu to immediately transfer the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED), so that all individuals involved — regardless of position or affiliation — are brought to justice, and the truth is uncovered without delay.
“The people of Andhra Pradesh deserve nothing less than full transparency and accountability. I trust that you will take the necessary action in the larger public interest,” Nani said.
