It's Not Just 'MAVIGUN', It's 'AMMAVIGUN'

It's Not Just 'MAVIGUN', It's 'AMMAVIGUN'

The idea of MAVIGUN, the capital corridor, was proposed recently by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy as an alternative development approach, instead of pouring huge expenditure on Amaravati alone.

The acronym represented Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, and Guntur, highlighting the economic corridor formed by these cities.

The proposal attracted trolling from some sections online, largely because of the unusual acronym rather than the development idea itself.

Now the discussion has resurfaced again on social media.

A fresh remark by Gudivada Amarnath, who served as a minister in the YCP government, is being widely shared.

He mentioned, “Amaravati kooda MAVIGUN lo bhaagame. Amaravatini vaddani YCP e roju cheppaledu.”

Following this statement, several netizens pointed out that if Amaravati is also part of the concept, the acronym effectively expands.

With Amaravati joining Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, and Guntur, some users jokingly suggested that MAVIGUN could now be called “AMMAVIGUN.”

The discussion shows how political statements often trigger creative interpretations and renewed debate online.
