Tuni Municipality had given shocker to TDP senior leader and former minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu.
The municipality which has a total of 30 wards had seen 15 wards unanimously wrest by the ruling YSR Congress.
As the nominations withdrawal was closed on Wednesday, the YSR Congress had won 15 wards unopposed.
Tuni has been the fortress of Yanamala for the past three decades.
Yanamala is the Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council in the state.
Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly, Chandrababu Naidu, had tasted bitter experience in his home constituency, Kuppam, in the just-concluded Gram Panchayat elections.
The TDP tasted humiliating defeat in Kuppam with 73 panchayats out of 87 going for the ruling YSR Congress.
After the Kuppam’s defeat, it was now the turn of Tuni, where Yanamala, the leader next only to Chandrababu Naidu in the party, to face the humiliating defeat.
