Times Now Survey Shakes Yellow Media!

Times Now Survey Shakes Yellow Media!

The Times Now media has released a small portion of its survey on the prospects of political parties in the country.

It projects that the YSR Congress would win 24 to 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh if elections were held now.

This would mean that the YSR Congress would sweep the Parliament seats, having won 22 MP seats in the last election, leaving three for the TDP.

This survey has caused tremors in the yellow media. RK from Andhra Jyothi went one step further and weaved a story attributing a quid pro quo deal for the survey.

He said that the state government had paid Rs 25 crore to the Times Group, for which the survey in favour of the ruling party was a quid pro quo.

However, what RK is missing is that he was paid Rs 5 crore for every live telecast of the government programmes and the chief minister’s public meetings during the TDP regime.

There used to be three to four government programmes and one chief minister’s public meeting every month during those five years.

Accordingly, RK was paid Rs 25 crore every month for five years by the TDP government from the State exchequer.

Having received so much money from the exchequer, how can RK now blame another media house for doing the same?

Moreover, the Times Group is engaged in promotion and brand image-building activities with several state governments across the country.

Leaving the finance matter aside, the survey has really caused shivers among the yellow batch, as the surveys done by the Times Now in the past have proved to be accurate.

As per the survey, if the YSR Congress wins all the 25 Parliament seats, that would be the end of TDP in the state, and the yellow media would have to find a new political force to oppose Jagan Mohan Reddy!
