Suspended Officer Gets Promotion At Centre!

Senior Indian Revenue Service Officer Jasti Krishna Kishore, who managed to escape prosecution by the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government in Andhra Pradesh for his alleged acts of omission and commission during his tenure as CEO of AP Economic Development Board (APEDB) in the Chandrababu Naidu regime, has got promotion.

Krishna Kishore, who was suspended by the Jagan government and was not relieved for over six months pending inquiry into the allegations of corruption, managed to get the relief in the Central Administrative Tribunal which revoked his suspension and directed the government to relief him from the state deputation.

Within days of being relieved from the state, Krishna Kishore returned to his parent department of Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), where he was holding the rank of chief commissioner of income tax.

On Wednesday, he was promoted as principal chief commissioner of income tax and asked to report in the head office New Delhi immediately.

However, the case against Krishna Kishore being investigated by the anti-corruption bureau is still continuing, as the CAT ordered that the state could go ahead with its investigation into the allegations of corruption

Krishna Kishore had approached the high court seeking quashing of the case. Even as the case is in the court, he returned to the Centre and got the promotion.
