Naidu Justifies His Decision On Poll Boycott

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu was in upbeat mood when the AP high court suspended the MPTC and ZPTC elections on Tuesday.

The TDP chief, who had already announced the boycott of the elections, said that the court decision had justified his decision.

The TDP chief said that the parties have asked for cancellation of the MPTC and ZPTC elections and start afresh.

The political parties made this demand even when Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar was in the office of the State Election Commission, he said.

He alleged that the ruling YSR Congress had resorted to several poll irregularities in the elections, including the unanimous elections.

He recalled that he found fault with the new SEC Nilam Sawhney for continuing the election, without taking into consideration the political parties complaints.

Now, that the court had suspended the election, the TDP chief and the party’s ranks are celebrating the court’s decision.

It is now to be seen what the SEC would do in the light of the court’s decision, as polling, as per schedule, is to be held on April 8 and counting on April 10.
