Kesineni's brother seeks support of Vangaveeti

The cold war between Telugu Desam Party MP from Vijayawada Kesineni Nani and his younger brother Kesineni Chinni is turning out to be curious and curiouser with every passing day.

Even as there were reports that Kesineni Nani was unhappy with the TDP leadership and might quit the party, he suddenly took a U-turn and started taking active part in the party activities.

At the same time, party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu attended the engagement ceremony of Kesineni’s daughter Swetha in Hyderabad and both of them had spent a lot of time together, sending a clear signal to the party cadre that all is well in Vijayawada TDP.

Even as the MP was busy making preparations for his daughter’s marriage, his younger brother Chinni had a meeting with Kapu leader and ex-MLA Vangaveeti Radha, who is also a senior leader in the TDP in Vijayawada.

Vangaveeti, who joined the TDP before 2019 assembly elections, did not contest but campaigned for the party, He is now planning to contest from Vijayawada (central) constituency, which is being eyed by Kesineni.

Apparently to checkmate his elder brother, Chinni is learnt to have met Vangaveeti and assured to extend all the support to him in the next elections. In return, Chinni might seek the support of Radha and his Kapu groups for his contest from Vijayawada Lok Sabha seat.

Chinni also made an open statement that his objective is to see that Naidu will return to power in the state in 2024 elections. Though he did not disclose his plans, he has given indications that he might contest the Lok Sabha elections.

It remains to be see what Kesineni will do now to counter his younger brother.
