Jagan to take lessons for MLAs again!

Jagan to take lessons for MLAs again!

It is time for the MLAs of the YSR Congress party to attend another round of classes. The party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, has called for a meeting on April 3 for a performance review.

Apart from the MLAs, the meeting will be attended by Jagan's cabinet colleagues, party in-charges for various constituencies, regional coordinators, and other senior party members.

Party sources indicate that Jagan will conduct a comprehensive review of the ongoing Gadapa Gadapaku Prabhutvam programme, which concludes at the end of March. He will determine whether to extend the programme for several more months.

In addition, Jagan will evaluate the individual performance of the MLAs in their respective constituencies. He will also conduct a comprehensive review of the party's performance in the last four years and discuss the election year's roadmap.

During the review meeting held in the last week of December, Jagan warned 32 MLAs whose performance did not meet expectations that they might not receive party tickets again. This time, he has obtained feedback on other MLAs and may present it at the April 3 meeting. Thus, it will be clear how many MLAs will face the axe in the next elections.

Jagan will also conduct a thorough review of the party's performance in the recent MLC elections and is expected to give stern warnings to MLAs who defy the party line.

He may also take action against party leaders who failed to ensure the party candidates' victory in the graduates' constituencies.

“He is definitely going to take serious classes for the MLAs in an attempt to gear them up for the next elections. So, perform or perish is going to be the message for the party MLAs,” a party source said.
