Jagan Leaving For Delhi: What's Up?

Jagan Leaving For Delhi: What's Up?

In a sudden decision, YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is leaving for New Delhi on Thursday evening.

Jagan, who was in Anantapur district this morning to formally inaugurate the Kia Motors plant after a gap of six months, is understood to have got a call from Delhi. The exact reasons for his Delhi visit are not known.

It is being speculated that Jagan would be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday and discuss certain issues pending clearance from the Centre.

Significantly, Jagan will be in Delhi at a time when the CBI court in Hyderabad would be hearing his case of quid-pro-quo.

The YSRC chief is expected to attend the case on Friday, as the CBI court dismissed his petition seeking exemption from personal appearance during the trial.

It is also interesting to note that Jagan’s visit comes a couple of days after the visit of his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao to Delhi.

Though KCR had gone there to attend the wedding of Power Finance Corporation chairman Rajiv Sharma’s son, he also made an abortive attempt to get the appointment of the Prime Minister. As a result, KCR had to come back empty handed.

It remains to be seen whether Jagan would get the appointment of the PM and the Home Minister.
