Jagan In Delhi: What's The Agenda?

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday left for New Delhi on a two-day tour to meet a host of Union ministers to discuss the issues pertaining to the state.

Jagan, along with state irrigation minister P Anil Kumar Yadav and senior officials, flew down to the national capital by a special flight. In the evening, he would meet Union water resources minister Gajendra Singh Shekawat to discuss the progress of Polavaram major irrigation project and request him to release the pending central funds.

He is also expected to meet a few other Union ministers, including Union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan, railway minister Piyush Goel and environment minister Prakash Javadekar, before returning to Vijayawada on Friday afternoon.

The most significant meeting of Jagan, however, is with Union home minister Amit Shah at around 9 pm. Though officially it is meant to discuss various issues pertaining to the state, it is believed that Jagan will take up the issue of rebel YSRC MP Kanumuri Raghurama Krishnam Raju, who has become a big nuisance for him.

Raju, who was arrested in a sedition case by the Andhra CID and later released on bail following a Supreme Court order, has already met Shah, besides several other Union ministers complaining against the Jagan government.

He even wrote letters to MPs, and even Governors and chief ministers of various states, accusing the Jagan government of misusing the sedition law.

Jagan is expected to present his version before Amit Shah and explain how Raju was creating hatred among the people against his government, besides interfering in the CBI inquiry into his old cases. He may request Shah to rein in the rebel MP.
