Jagan follows KCR on land survey!

One of the revolutionary steps taken by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao during its previous tenure was cleansing of land records by undertaking a comprehensive land re-survey in the entire Telangana.

The decision enabled the KCR government to identify genuine land holders, clear the land disputes and implement various benefits like Rythu Bandhu.

Now, YSR Congress party government in Andhra Pradesh headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has also decided to follow KCR’s model.

On Wednesday, Jagan announced that a comprehensive land re-survey would be taken up with state-of-the art technology in the state.

During a review meeting with the Revenue Department officials, Jagan said the re-survey becomes necessary as most of the land records in the state have either been misplaced or lost after 1980.

The chief minister directed the officials to provide house pattas to all the eligible beneficiaries by next Ugadi festival.

He asked the authorities to make use of rovers, robots and satellite imagery, GPS and other modern-day equipment to identify and map government lands.

He said the comprehensive land re-survey is going to be a first of its kind in the state with modern technology being put into use as done in the USA, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

“The exercise would be done with one control centre and 75 base stations working round the clock to cover 3,000 villages at a time. The acquired data would not only be useful to farmers but will also be useful for mines, forest, agriculture, irrigation, police and other departments,” he said.
