Senior Telugu Desam Party leader and former MLA from Denduluru in West Godavari district Chintamaneni Prabhakar was arrested once again by the police on Monday.
This is the fifth time Chintamaneni was facing the arrest in different cases.
The Monday’s arrest pertained to an alleged kidnap and assault on one Modikonda Muralikrishna at Pedavegi in 2018.
He was produced before the court which remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days.
On September 11, Chintamaneni was arrested for abusing and assaulting a Dalit leader of YSRC Cheruku Joseph who was carrying sand at Pinakamidi village in State’s West Godavari district on August 31.
He was arrested 12 days after he went absconding following a case a booked against him under SC/ST Atrocities Act.
Till now, out of five cases, Chintamaneni got bail in two cases and three are still pending. The police are arresting him within hours of the former MLA coming out on bail on a different case.
Chintamaneni has been facing as many as 58 cases till now, apart from fresh cases being filed by the police.
And if the police continue to keep him behind the bars for every case, he may have to spend his life at least for the next couple of years only in jails!
