AP: YSRCP Stages Walkout During Gov's Address

The Budget Session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislature began on Wednesday with Governor S Abdul Nazeer addressing a joint sitting of the Assembly and the Legislative Council.

The Governor’s speech was marked by loud protests from YSRCP legislators.

MLAs of the YSR Congress Party, led by former chief minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, raised slogans against the TDP-led NDA government, accusing it of running a “kingdom of thieves.” Amid the uproar, YSRCP members staged a walkout from the House.

Jagan Mohan Reddy’s presence drew attention, as he attended the Assembly after nearly a year. His previous appearance in the House was on February 24, 2025.

Following the Governor’s address, the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) is scheduled to meet at 11:30 am to finalise the agenda and duration of the Budget Session.

The Assembly is expected to function for around 20 days, from February 11 to March 12, during which several key legislative and administrative matters will be taken up.

Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav is likely to present the State Budget for the financial year 2026–27 on February 14.
