Andhra Talk: People Of Vijaywada On Stone-Attack

The stone attack on YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Vijayawada has sparked statewide discussion. Greatandhra has gathered opinions from Vijayawada residents, revealing unanimous condemnation of the attack.

Here are some viewpoints:

"This is unjust and antisocial. No one has such a right to attack any politician physically," said Ramanayya Naidu, a fancy shop owner in Benz Circle.

"This is not just a stone attack; it's an assassination attempt. If the bullet is fired, the criminal would be tracked seriously. If it were a stone attack, it is difficult to track the criminal. So the stone attack might have chosen by a sharpshooter instead of a gun and bullet. The intention is to harm him seriously," opines Swami Naidu, a retired constable living near Satyanarayanapuram.

"Vijayawada is the hotbed of anti-Jagan groups who go to any extent when they feel that the opponent is gaining strength. It is needless to name who they are," said a kirana shop owner who refuses to mention his name.

"I am not a YCP sympathizer. But I condemn this attack. It is okay to attack with words but not with stones like this. Whoever has attacked should be kept in prison without any doubt," said a tea vendor at MG Road area.

"Two regional parties that are united together to confront YCP hate Jagan Mohan Reddy to the core. The people from either of the two parties are part of this attack. I wonder what the BJP, which is part of this coalition, is thinking about these two parties now," mentions Vijay Kumar, a waiter in a popular hotel at Mogalrajpuram.

"The attack on Jagan Mohan Reddy has backfired as it has raised sympathy for him. The coalition groups have dug their own pit with this act," opines Srinivas, a banker in Labbipeta region.

"I doubt if Chandrababu and Pawan have a hand in this attack. Some miscreants who oppose Jagan Mohan Reddy and YCP's growth might have attacked with their personal decision and emotion. But it is potential enough to make it political," shared Khader Basha, an auto driver near Pinnamaneni Polyclinic area.

"My pity is for Vellampalli Srinivas who was hurt in a bigger way than that of Jagan Mohan Reddy. But hardly anyone is discussing him. The entire attention is only on Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of the state," says Nagamani, a tailor in Patamata.
