Anandaiah Surfaces, Says No Medicine For Now!

Bonige Anandaiah, the self-styled Ayurvedic practitioner from Krishnapatnam village of Nellore district, who has been virtually underground for the last one week, surfaced before the media virtually on Friday.

He told the reporters through a video message that there was no truth in the reports that he would resume distribution of Krishnapatnam medicine from today.

“I have not got any permission from the government for distribution of medicine for Covid-19 till now. So, there is no distribution of medicine for now,” he said.

Appealing to people not to believe the rumours in the social media and come to Krishnapatnam for the medicine, Anandaiah said he didn’t even have the raw material to prepare the medicine for curing Covid-19.

“Once I get the permission from the government, I will resume preparation of the medicine and take up distribution. Once it is ready, I will make the announcement well in advance so that the people could get the medicine. Till such time, please don’t come to Krishnapatnam,” he said.

The state high court has already directed the Andhra Pradesh government to take a quick decision on the distribution of Krishnapatnam medicine. It asked the government not to delay the decision in the name of examination of medicine.

The state government’s counsel told the court that the government was expecting a report from the Centre on May 29. The court posted the case to Monday asking it to submit a report by then.
