Popular cartoonist – Pochampalli Sridhar, better known as Eenadu Sridhar – was on Monday appointed advisor to the Andhra Pradesh government.
Sridhar has been appointed as advisor in the field of mass communications. He has long been associated with journalism, visual communication, and public outreach.
Sridhar, who served Eenadu for more than three decades and became popular with his pocket cartoons under the title Idi Sangathi, hails from Nalgonda district of Telangana.
Considered to be a blue-eyed boy of late Ch Ramoji Rao, Sridhar resigned from the organisation three years ago, as he could not adjust himself to the changing editorial policies.
Meanwhile, renowned naturopathy expert Manthena Satyanarayana Raju has been appointed as advisor on Naturopathy to the state government.
Manthena is widely known for his decades-long service in the field of natural medicine and wellness.
He runs a naturopathy hospital on the Undavalli river bund and operates wellness centres in Vijayawada and Narasapuram, where thousands have received treatment.
Similarly, Chunduri Sitaramanjaneya Prasad has been appointed as advisor to the endowments department.
All three advisors will hold their respective positions for a tenure of two years, as per the government orders.
However, the issuance of these key GOs was marked by confusion and procedural lapses within the General Administration Department (GAD).
Due to what officials described as haste and negligence, the GAD initially issued an incorrect GO regarding the advisory appointments.
The first GO wrongly mentioned Chunduri Sitaramanjaneya Prasad as advisor for mass communications and Sridhar as the advisor in the endowments department.
The error was noticed within hours, following which the GAD withdrawn the incorrect order and issued a revised GO, rectifying the mistake.
