After Ganta, it is Kondru in TDP to back Jagan

Former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao from the TDP had welcomed chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s three capitals proposal.

It was a rude shock to the TDP which was opposing the move, as it would mean the death of Naidu’s dream capital, Amaravati.

Ganta Srinivasa Rao had welcomed the proposal to make Visakhapatnam the executive capital of the state.

He said that Visakha had all qualities to be the capital of the state and the decision would help in the overall development of north Andhra.

The TDP chief and his leaders, who have invested in Amaravati and who have pinned all their hopes around this dream city, were shocked to see Ganta’s statement, even as they were all holding protests and speaking to the media across the state.

Even before they could forget the shock of Ganta, another senior leader, Kondru Murali Mohan, had come out openly welcoming Jagan Mohan Reddy’s plan to make Visakhapatnam as the executive capital of the State.

Kondru Murali Mohan, a loyalist of late Rajasekhar Reddy, joined the TDP just before the 2019 elections and contested unsuccessfully from Rajam in Srikakulam.

Murali made an open appeal to the TDP leaders, specially Chandrababu Naidu, to welcome the proposal on Visakhapatnam.

The former minister also appealed to the TDP leaders from North Andhra to support Jagan’s proposal or quit TDP if they have to oppose the capital plan.

Thus, he had put the TDP leaders from Uttarandhra in a situation, where they would have to choose between Jagan’s Visakhapatnam or Naidu’s Amaravati.
