“12A Railway Colony,” set to release on November 21, is not releasing in the USA.
Initially, the producer waited for strong buyers, but the film did not receive offers considering the current USA market situation where attracting audiences to theatres has become increasingly difficult.
Later, a buyer offered to release the film for an advance of few lakhs, but the producer declined. When the release date approached, the producer agreed, yet the buyer was no longer interested. As a result, the film is releasing only in India.
Since the film is a thriller, its box-office potential is higher in domestic markets. If it performs well, the producer may later release it in the USA on his own terms.
In contrast to this situation, the relatively small films Premante and Raju Weds Rambai are releasing in the USA with a considerably better and more noticeable theatrical reach.
“12A Railway Colony” is a thriller starring Allari Naresh and Kamakshi Bhaskarla in the lead roles. It is directed by Nani Kasaragadda and produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi.
