From Rajinikanth to Dhanush, all leading stars of Tamil film industry have good market in Telugu land and their films run with packed screens.
If a Rajinikanth’s film becomes hit, Rs 40 Cr share comes from Telugu land. Stars like Suriya, Karthi and Vishal have about Rs 20 – Rs 25 Cr (that is if their films become hits) market.
However, no Telugu star has such craze in Tamilnadu except Mahesh Babu. Only Mahesh Babu’s movies regularly are getting dubbed into Tamilandu and fetching some decent collections.
The only massive blockbuster from Telugu in Tamilnadu is Rajamouli’s trend-setting “Baahubali” movies.
Among Tollywood stars, now Vijay Deverakonda is gaining popularity in Tamilnadu after Mahesh Babu.
His “Geetha Govindam” took bumper openings in Chennai, Coimbatore and other cities. Interestingly, it also playing in small centers like Karur with extra screens. Now that he has got good following, his producer Gnanavel Raja would be happy.
Vijay Deverakonda is debuting in Kollywood with Gnanavel Raja produced ‘NOTA’ that is aiming for December release.
