US BO: Custody Fails to Open Strong

Naga Chaitanya's films "Majili" and "Love Story" have done well in the United States.

With the exception of "Thank You," his films typically gross between $400 and $500k. However, if the opening weekend is taken into account, "Custody" may not even break $300k

"Custody" was Naga Chaitanya's attempt to break into the Tamil market, but Tamil director Venkat Prabhu's story failed to impress both Tamil and Telugu audiences. The film was not well received by Telugu audiences in the United States.

The film made about $230,000 in its first weekend.

#Custody Fri: 147,753 Sat: $51,856 Sun:$30k (apprx) Weekend Gross: $230k (apprx).

Naga Chaitanya’s sincere act won little praise but the film didn’t do any good to his career in terms of box office result.
