Tiger Shroff, Shraddha Kapoor starrer Baaghi was said to be an official remake of Telugu blockbuster Varsham. This sounds amusing because Varsham itself was heavily inspired by a Bollywood hit Tezaab.
However the makers of Baaghi didn’t stick with Varsham’s screenplay and made their own cocktail by mixing various themes from different films.
The martial arts training sequences are lifted from the movies like Karate Kid and Kungfu Panda series. Villain hides heroine in a multi storey building and hero has to go through each level to get to his girl is a rip off of super hit action film Raid: Redemption.
Basic plot of the triangle between hero, heroine and villain from Varsham stays, but Baaghi is given an entirely new treatment by director Sabbir Khan.
Mahesh Babu’s brother in law Sudheer Babu is playing the villain in this film. Shraddha Kapoor too got a chance to display her action chops. There is loads of action and glamour in Baaghi, which can pull mass audiences to the theaters.
We have to wait and see if this cocktail has the power to storm into the 100 crore club or not. Bollywood made a mess out of Okkadu remake, hope that is not the case with Varsham.
