Top 5: Creative Directors Disappoint Big Time

Top 5: Creative Directors Disappoint Big Time

1) Fidaa: Sekhar Kammula's breezy romantic tale turned out to be the 'blockbuster of the year' with a profit of over double its pre release theatrical estimates.

Its theatrical rights were valued at Rs. 18 crore including all expenses and the movie collected Rs. 37 crore+ by the end of its third weekend.

As the new releases failed to put a dent on its collections, Fidaa had a solid third weekend at the box office.

2) Nakshatram: ‘Creative director’ Krishna Vamsi disappoints yet again. His latest creation Nakshatram turned out to be a loud, unentertaining and unbearable film for its audience.

The film is a huge disappointment that the collections dropped on its second day and didn’t improve even on Sunday. It will go down as one of the biggest flops of the year.

3) Gautam Nanda: Last week’s release Gautam Nanda had a fairly decent second weekend, thanks to the disastrous new releases. However, Gautam Nanda still got a long way to go for it to be a safe venture.

Its performance during week days has been so bad that breakeven looks unlikely.

4) Darshakudu: Brand Sukumar is the reason for film lovers to show interest in Darshakudu. But the film turned out to be a disappointing fare from Sukumar’s production.

Debut director Jakka Hari Prasad’s ideas are good but those didn’t translate onto the film as Darshakudu suffered due to poor execution.

Darshakudu had a below par first weekend and is unlikely to pick up as the word of mouth is largely negative.

5) Jab Harry Met Sejal: Shahrukh Khan’s disastrous streak continues. His latest film JHMS also is a huge disappointment.

Imtiaz Ali’s lackluster script couldn’t hold audiences interest despite SRK and Anushka’s best efforts.
