Tollywood Trade: No Success in September

Tollywood Trade: No Success in September

Tollywood box office scored two hits in August with Goodachari and Geetha Govindam, but September turned out to be a disappointing one.

Silly Fellows starring Allari Naresh and Sunil had a fairly decent start at box office, but ended up as a failure.

Critically acclaimed Care Of Kancharapalem failed to make a mark on the commercial front. Much publicized Manu also had gone unnoticed.

Shailaja Reddy Alludu that released on Vinayaka Chavithi had a fantastic first day at box office. Crazy combination and catchy title ensured openings but lackluster script was a letdown.

Shailaja Reddy Alludu crashed after a bright start and ended up as loss venture for all parties involved.

U Turn starring Samantha also released on Vinayaka Chavithi, but couldn’t make the most of positive word of mouth and reviews. It couldn’t recover the money invested by buyers.

Nannu Dochukunduvate produced by Sudheer Babu failed to get a decent start and couldn’t pick up later. It is a huge failure in terms of box office returns.

Saamy that was sold for high prices was a damp squib at Telugu box office.

Devadas that released in the last week had a decent start but needs to hold well in the coming days as buyers invested big bucks in it.

Nawab directed Mani Ratnam failed to get a good start and is heading for a flop.

Films like Kurukshetram, Natakam and Ee Maya Peremito were all flops.

If Devadas fails to cross the breakeven mark, September will be a big disappointment for Telugu cinema.
