Taapsee's Take On Animal: 'I Wouldn't Do It'

In a recent interview with Raj Shamani, Taapsee Pannu shared her perspective on the box office hit "Animal," which faced criticism on the internet for its portrayal of toxic masculinity, misogyny, and excessive violence.

Pannu revealed that she hadn't watched the film but had received many opinions about it. She emphasized her stance as not being an extremist and being open to differing views.

Addressing comparisons to Hollywood, Pannu argued that Bollywood and Hollywood cater to different audiences. She highlighted the distinct impact films have on society, noting that in Bollywood, people often imitate actors' styles and lines, as well as engage in concerning behaviors portrayed on screen.

Pannu emphasized the unique reality of the Indian film industry, stating that it cannot be directly compared to Hollywood.

She expressed her belief in using the influence and responsibility that come with being a Bollywood star to contribute positively. Pannu clarified that while she respects others' choices, she personally would not take on a role like that in "Animal."

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, "Animal" features Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri in key roles, and it was released on December 1.
