Siddharth Bounces Back Strongly With Jigarthanda

Siddharth has wiped off his chocolate boy image clean with his latest release Jigarthanda, a musical gangster film set against the backdrop of Madurai.

The film, which released Friday, has opened to very positive and raving reviews from critics as well as audiences. For the first time in a while, Siddharth didn't merely appear in a lover boy role, he experimented and was duly paid off.

Siddharth is happy with the response as his next two films - Kaaviya Thalaivan and Lucia - in Tamil will also not feature him in typical lover boy roles.

He's happy with the transformation, and therefore, says this year is very important to him when it comes to his films.

He says unless people come and ask him to do a lover boy role film, he wouldn't willingly sign a film. That's a good move by Siddharth because we've kind of got bored of seeing him in the same kind of roles.

Jigarthanda is expected to extremely well at the box-office. According to trade insiders, on the release day, it has collected over Rs. 4 crores in Tamil Nadu and is expected to rake in more over the weekend.
