Opinion: How The Three 'Lie'gers Killed The Film?

Opinion: How The Three 'Lie'gers Killed The Film?

The politicians tell many lies. In fact, the people have to wait for five years to give their judgement. Similarly, people listen to whatever lies during the promotion events of films. But they give judgement just after the first show.

Everybody knows that when the content is weak publicity will be at peaks. Charmmee, Puri Jagannath and Vijay Deverekonda told many lies about the film 'Liger' before its release. They raised too many expectations with their lies. But that boomeranged so badly just after the first show. The audiences that come to theatres with expectations got disappointed to the core and vented out their anger and frustration with trolls and blatant reviews.

Vijay Deverekonda said that he would start counting the collection from Rs 200 Cr. Puri said that he made a wonder. Charmmee has shown some emotion in her promotion. She also boasted that they didn't give to OTT when Rs 200 Cr was offered. All in all, everything ended up as a big 'lie' at the end.

The makers, with their years of experience, can assess the plight of the film once they watch the first copy. If they don't, it means that they are in illusion. If yes, they shouldn't bluff the audience with over hype and make them fools.

If the content works, the film makes a big collection in spite of 100 negative reviews. If it fails, not even 1000 good reviews can help. Bimbisara, Sita Ramam and Katikeya-2 worked only because of this.

You may invest any amount of money. But don't over hype about the content in a boasting manner. Now the audience thinks twice before entering into the theatres of the films made by Puri Jagannath. Vijay Deverakonda also lost his credibility by not maintaining balance in his talk during promotions. Yes, the off screen impression of heroes and directors makes an impact on box office collection many times.
