NV Prasad, the senior film producer has shared many interesting things about the theatre system, the plight of exhibitors at this juncture and what the government would have done in this matter.
When asked, why can't the artistes' remunerations be controlled to cope with the theatres' business with lesser ticket prices, he said, "Artistes have their own demand. In spite of Covid lockdowns they can sit and talk about something like Garikipati Narasimha Rao and can earn good money through social media. We cannot control them".
NV Prasad implies that this is the star driven industry and so controlling their minds and remunerations is impossible.
He also said that the stars earn good on social media posts as well, but the case of theatre owners is not like that.
Sharing his opinion about the present situation, he expressed, "Due to the pandemic the situation has become worse. This is not the right time for the government to make this kind of decision about movie tickets.
First of all, the dying thing should be given some life. After that the norms and policies can be streamlined".
