Maestro Is A Faithful Remake With Humor: Nithiin

Maestro Is A Faithful Remake With Humor: Nithiin

Although Nithiin’s Maestro is going for direct release on OTT, the makers are still promoting it vastly to make it reach wider sections.

Today, the film’s pre-release event is held with the entire core team attending it, including both the heroines Nabha Natesh and Tamannaah.

Tamannaah says she took the bold decision, as she wanted to try different roles, rather than continuing to do glamor and regular roles.

“Andhadhun is a kind of film which can work in any language. I thought of doing a love story with Nithiin. But, I’m more than happy to work for this kind of a film. It’s very difficult to play a blind person and he excelled in the role. Merlapaka Gandhi has great sense of humor.”

Merlapaka Gandhi said, “I wanted to make a commercial comedy entertainer with Nithiin. But I got to do an artistic film like Maestro. You will see a new Nithiin in the movie.”

Nabha Natesh revealed that she didn’t meet anyone, including her director Merlapaka Gandhi, until she joined the sets on day one.

“It’s my first film with Nithiin. He’s so focused from day one itself on sets. It was a challenging role for him and he’s mindful about the characters around himself. I learnt a lot from him. The dedication he’s shown is amazing.”

Nithiin said he initially had his own doubts whether to do the remake as Andhadhun was a cult hit in Hindi.

“As an actor, I wanted to take the risk. Merlapaka Gandhi worked really hard for the film. There is a danger in remaking, as people will always compare with the original. Maestro is a faithful remake. We made few changes adding some humor, without disturbing the soul. The Telugu version will be equally engaging. Actors of Andhadhun took the film to next level. Tamannaah took a daring decision to play the role. Nabha has done her part quite efficiently. We added love scenes, as the romantic track is very short in the original.”

Andhadhun will premiere on September 17th.
